Enjoyed a wonderful one night stay. Room was gorgeous and super clean ! Breakfast was amazing value for money. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Excellent location for visiting the beautiful village of Dunkeld! Would definitely recommend.
Visited the Royal Dunkeld Hotel during a family trip and it was a great stop! We tried the Scottish Haggis Pakora and Chicken Vindaloo – both were freshly made and full of authentic flavour. The Vindaloo tasted just like the real thing I had in India, not the usual creamy tomato curry you get elsewhere. It took about an hour to be served, but the freshness and taste made it worth the wait. Also nice to see and chat with some friendly Nepalese staff. Highly recommend if you're in Dunkeld and craving proper food!
Receptionist was very pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. The rooms were comfortable shower was hot and powerful. The bar was good but from our experience the kitchen was pretty chaotic and food maybe slightly overpriced for what it was - but not too bad. A mysterious character known by guests as "Shades" lurks around the hotel, shifting between spaces and occasionally interfering with staff duties. Not much is known about this individual and perhaps that is for the best. All in all a great stay and good value.

First time staying at Royal Dunkeld last night. Hotel was great value, we had a spacious family room, staff were excellent, decent breakfast, family friendly bar, with pool table, etc. Set in a beautiful little village, highly recommended!

Judging by the reviews, people have mistaken booking here for the Hilton. It’s not the Hilton, it’s not everybody’s taste but what it is, is an excellent, reasonably priced location stay. If you’re looking for fancy rooms with all mod cons then this isn’t your place to stay. If you’re looking for a well priced and fantastic location with free car parking (those who visit Dunkeld regularly will understand this) base for your activities, then this is the place to go. The staff are fantastic, particularly Sean and Joan who were exemplary in their treatment of my disabled son. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and consideration throughout our entire stay! I would suggest the following. Do away with the woodlands bistro, refurb the bar and the bistro to be as one and decide on a small but simple menu. I love the fact you can get an amazing curry here so please don’t change that just have a couple of curry options and simplify the traditional menu. The potential this place has,especially with staff who genuinely care and are extremely helpful, is worth its weight in gold for a busy wee place like Dunkeld! Thank you again for making our stay special and memorable!
